Once you’ve invested enough into a sports team, you’re probably going to want to see them on their home turf. So, if you’re planning on going on any kind of a journey in the near future, and you’re also a fan of a certain sport, or fan of certain team, then you can add that into your considerations for your destination list.

Five travel destinations in particular that you can consider include San Diego for football, Detroit for hockey, Cleveland for basketball, Seattle for soccer, and Chicago for baseball. All of these destinations are not only cool in their own right, they also have the sports representation there to make things interesting from that perspective.

San Diego for Football

If you choose to take a vacation at a resort in San Diego, you might as well take in a football game as well. The San Diego Chargers are now the Los Angeles Chargers, but it’s really not that big of a deal to take a short trip up north in order to see the team play. There are other sports going on in San Diego as well, but the slightly smaller scale of the city is a more pleasant vacation for certain personalities. Whilst you’re in the area, why not stay at a Mission Bay San Diego Resort? Make the most of your trip away and have a good time watching football!

Detroit for Hockey

Though they aren’t in their heyday anymore, Detroit used to be the place to go to watch the Red Wings play. Even with that said, you can take a trip to Detroit to see some of the more interesting aspects of hockey culture as well as baseball culture located in the downtown area. Because Detroit is such a low-key city right now, you can get great deals on lodging, and if you stay in the nice parts, it can be an extremely luxurious experience for a fraction of the cost of other places.

Cleveland for Basketball

If you’ve been following basketball at all for the past few years, then you know the Lebron James effect. Cleveland is now the place to be in terms of seeing home games that the Cavaliers play, and that’s why it’s become something of a tourist destination, especially during basketball season. If you look into tourism in Cleveland, you’ll see that sports are huge part of what they’re pushing. Yes, the Browns do play there during the NFL season, but their talent is something to be considered in that equation.

Seattle for Soccer

For soccer fans, there’s no better place to go in the United States than Seattle. The Seattle Sounders are one of the premier soccer teams in MLS, and they regularly have some of the best crowds in the country. There is an enormous amount of blue and neon green spirit, and between the soccer team and the Seahawks, you get a great vacation and sports experience in one.

Chicago for Baseball

And finally, if you want to see some great baseball games at some historic locations, as well as see the inside of an amazing city, then Chicago is where you’ll be headed. Between the Cubs and White Sox, you have some of the best players in the world, playing at some of the best fields in the world, and then you can visit the rest of the city for all of the typical tourist spots.
